Having spent many years commuting to London working within the construction industry Paul Walker decided to take a year out to renovate a recent property purchase and look for a new career path. Emma Walker was also in a similar position; commuting to Welwyn Garden City each day, then working long days as an office manager was never going to work as a long term plan.

 

So a long year was spent working on an old timber frame property building a new home, and it was during this time that the couple decided that even if the property was old, they needed to embrace the latest technology. Commissioning a company to carry out some works was an interesting process and having had an electronics background it was soon clear that Paul's knowledge was greater than the professionals they had commissioned.

 

Hence in November 2002 Interconnection was born. The company continued to grow year on year, however Paul always felt that to really be successful they needed to find a business partner who shared their passion for the systems that they installed and have an excellent eye for detail.

 

It was a long process and while many individuals walked through the door, no one really stood out until in August of 2006 Paul was introduced to James Rackham. James joined the company on a freelance basis initially, however it was easy to see that he could offer the company so much and was soon made a director.

 

James' electrical background, a keen interest in pro-audio, along with a wealth of experience within the lighting sector meant that he was the ideal candidate. His on-site practical experience ensures that the systems installed give years of trouble free service, exceeding the customer's expectations.
